Matildas star Mary Fowler is adapting to WAG life with ease, pictured this week in love scenes with her NRL boyfriend Nathan Cleary.

The versatile Manchester City striker will play a key role in the Paris Olympics which begin on July 26.

But after two friendly matches against China, he has some well-deserved downtime before the first match of the Olympics against Germany on the opening day of the games.

So he will spend time in Australia with his high-profile partner, who is on his way back from injury.

Fowler looked relaxed and casual as she walked hand in hand with Cleary, dressed in loose-fitting clothing, ditching her makeup and with her hair in what appeared to be loose braids as they left the Panthers’ headquarters in Penrith.

Cleary had just finished his daily rehabilitation for a hamstring injury that has ruled him out for eight weeks.

He is expected to miss the entire State of Origin series after aggravating the injury against the Bulldogs in May.

Scans revealed a grade two hamstring tear that will see Cleary also ruled out for the next month of NRL matches.

Fowler was also spotted at a Sydney cafe running errands while her NRL star boyfriend trained with the Penrith Panthers over the long weekend.

Fowler wore a relaxed but stylish ensemble: a brown vest over a plaid sweater, camouflage pants, a black crossbody bag and brown boots.

She highlighted her natural beauty by not wearing makeup. This sighting came just days after Cleary watched Fowler in the Matildas’ 2-0 win over China at Sydney’s Accor Stadium. He attended the game with his mother, Rebecca.

While Fowler is a certainty for Paris, Matildas coach Tony Gustavsson has been forced to gamble on Katrina Gorry’s fitness by including the injured midfielder in his squad.

Also included was forward Caitilin Foord, who missed the Matildas’ recent friendly over China with a hamstring strain.

Concern over Foord’s fitness is growing as Sam Kerr remains sidelined, but the Arsenal striker was keen to emphasize the approach was cautious after a World Cup campaign and grueling club duties.

Should any of his 18 players suffer an injury between now and the group stage clash against Germany in Marseille, Gustavsson has four “replacement players” available to play.

Courtney Nevin, retired goalkeeper Lydia Williams, Sharn Freier and defender Charlotte Grant are the quartet in waiting.

Grant is the most unfortunate casualty having done a solid job replacing starting right back Ellie Carpenter, who missed 12 months of action in the run-up to last year’s World Cup with an ACL injury.

After facing Germany, Australia will face Zambia and the United States in their other group matches.
