The video game Avengers are defeated – the last major update has now been released.
No more new content and no more updates. Almost three years after the release, Square Enix gave up the superhero flop Marvel’s Avengers. With version 2.8, a last major patch has now appeared, which has one main effect: making almost all previously paid skins and cosmetics available to every player for free.
One last update to say goodbye
Official end of support: On March 31, 2023, Marvel’s Avengers received its last update – like the developers in one official blog post announced. Since then, version 2.8 has been available for download, attacking bugs and making balancing adjustments. However, players can no longer expect any more patches, apart from one single hotfix, which is to be delivered on April 4th.
Skins now free: After all, update 2.8 is the last that Marvel’s Avengers should receive. And with that, almost all previously paid skins are now available, for which no real money has to be shelled out. In addition, an internet connection is no longer required to access the in-game shop.
However, important story items must still be unlocked – either through progress in the campaign or by earning in-game currency. There is also a special Iron Man suit as a parting gift for all players who earned an achievement or trophy before April 1, 2023.
Finally, with update 2.8, the last real money currency was converted into in-game currency in the form of credits. For the release of the last patch for Marvel’s Avengers, the developers at Crystal Dynamics thanked their fans and for their support:

What’s next for Marvel’s Avengers?
Out of stores soon: After update 2.8, Marvel’s Avengers will be released on September 30, 2023 no longer sold. However, the game will still be available and playable via your own library or Game Pass. However, due to the end of support, the developers cannot guarantee that the gaming experience will be completely smooth.
