LINE OF FUNCTION: WHO IS THE FOURTH “H”?
Line Of Duty maker Jed Mercurio excited fans when he shared the first clue about the season six plot on Twitter.
With an upload of a package of Australian chocolate cookies TimTams with the title ‘#LineofDuty Series 6 Plot Clue No. 1 ‘, fans started to speculate fervently about what it could mean.
But one plot point that hangs from the show in the following season is about the identity of the ominous ‘H’.
Although the mystery was somewhat answered in the final of season five, it was also revealed that there are FOUR people who are “H”, the last of which is still unknown.
So who could it be?
Patricia Carmichael (Anna Maxwell Martin)
Patricia Carmichael (Anna Maxwell Martin)
She was one of the striking characters of season five and dived towards the end of the series to interrogate Ted Hastings – presumably “H” at the time.
And although she just seemed to be excellent at her job – and damn good at discovering corruption within the department – it could be that Patricia Carmichael so badly wanted to put the blame on Ted to turn her focus away from herself.
Could she be the fourth “H”?
Her position of power and respect, together with her unnatural steel and murderous attitude, are a good indication of this.
Ted Hastings (Adrian Dunbar)
Ted Hastings (Adrian Dunbar)
Ted Hastings was designated as a candidate for ‘H’ by viewers of the show, as well as the characters in the show.
But it seemed that he was acquitted at the end of season five and allowed to run free.
But could we all triple cross ourselves? In fact, could he STILL be the potential fourth “H”?
The biggest problem with this theory is that Gill Biggeloe – one of the three who turned out to be ‘H’ – was so against him. She wouldn’t work to scare him if they were in competition?
UNLESS, does she not know that he is the fourth “H”?
DCC Andrea Wise (Elizabeth Rider)
DCC Andrea Wise (Elizabeth Rider)
Detective Chief Constable Andrea Wise was new to the show in season five and is another powerful contender for ‘H’.
She is constantly involved in supporting AC-12 research by removing them from Operation Pear Tree research. She has also initiated the investigation of Ted Hastings.
She also wants to cover up police corruption, despite the announcement at the end of season five: “This police officer will work tirelessly to eradicate rotten apples in his ranks.”
PCC Rohan Sindwhani (Ace Bhatti)
PCC Rohan Sindwhani (Ace Bhatti)
Police and crime commissioner Rohan Sindwhani demanded a “meeting” between Andrea Wise and Ted Hastings. This can be a small indication, but any indication can be valid at this time.
Any dark behavior suggests that “H” is involved, and so Rohan could indeed be culpable.
