Lady Gaga’s restaurateur father criticized the “chaos” gripping the Big Apple by revealing that he was attacked outside his church.
Joe Germanotta, an outspoken critic of New York politicians and their Covid-19 economic policies, said the city has been spiraling into lawlessness in recent years.
“I was just attacked outside my church, they attacked me,” he told Fox Business in a wide-ranging interview.
‘It was 7:30 in the morning and I don’t know if he is a homeless man, he was a little disturbed… First he pushed the pastor of the church. We were standing in front and he came down the stairs after me.
Germanotta mentioned the random assault while raising the alarm about declining security in New York City, amid angry anti-Israel protests taking over the Columbia City and New York University campuses.

The superstar’s father has become a frequent commentator on New York City-related issues in recent years, as he told Fox this week that he places much of the blame on President Biden’s administration.
An Upper West Side resident and owner of the area’s Joanne Trattoria Italian restaurant, he previously spoke out after his neighboring hotel was transformed into a shelter for immigrants last summer.
In his interview this week, Germanotta said he believes the city is becoming increasingly “unsafe.”
“What’s been so unsafe is that there are a lot of people running around, just hanging around corners, lounging,” he said.
He explained: ‘There are probably enough scooters and bikes on the sidewalk to expand their delivery zone to Connecticut.
“They are everywhere and they are buzzing around. You have to look both ways when you walk down the street, because most of the time they travel in both directions.
‘The city has become unsafe in a couple of different ways, not just crime. “Now there is chaos.”

Germanotta said he has seen up to a third less business in recent years, which he attributed not only to lawlessness but also to escalating inflation.
“I can tell you this: where we hurt ourselves the most is in the economy,” he said.
‘And there has been a steady decline since this new administration and the mayor and crime and newcomers. And every time you turn around, there’s a ‘gotcha’ there.’
Gaga, whose real name is Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta, appears to have more liberal politics than her father, but generally keeps her opinions private.
