Martha Scott, the middle-aged stalker from Netflix hit Baby Reindeer, has become a fashion icon, with Gen Z reportedly rushing to get their hands on her mismatched wardrobe.

Her thick knit cardigans and oversized floral dresses only intensified her creepy stalker persona.

But now Martha Scott, the middle-aged stalker from Richard Gadd’s Netflix hit Baby Reindeer, has become an unlikely fashion icon as Gen Z reportedly rushes to get their hands on her mismatched wardrobe.

Videos are circulating on TikTok of people recreating her look of long skirts, side bags and fitted cardigans with the caption: ‘Martha Scott fit check’.

Demand for her outfits has become so high that websites are compiling lists of where fans can find her disheveled look.

The show’s costume designer Mekel Bailey admitted she deliberately found “color clashes” and outfits that reflect a “loss of care” in Martha’s appearance, but now people are turning to this as a fashion statement.

She scoured London’s charity shops for style inspiration including the likes of Scottish singer Susan Boyle, EastEnders’ Heather, Pam Ferris and her former manager.

But her mismatched wardrobe has been tracked down by fans who have found items including the purple heart-print cardigan she wore when sitting at the bus stop outside Donny’s house for up to 16 hours a day to have come from the brand Papaya for £19.

An oversized striped bright purple cardigan worn by Martha, played by The Outlaws star Jessica Gunning, is from Marks and Spencer’s Per Una brand and sold on eBay for £14.95.

An oversized floral shirt from Ann Harvey sold on eBay for £9.95 and she also wears an off-the-shoulder floral blouse from fast fashion brand, NastyGal.

Most of the items sold out after there was a rush of Baby Reindeer fans wanting to get their hands on Martha’s costume.

Baby Reindeer is one of Netflix’s most successful series of all time, with nearly 60 million views in less than a month since its launch in April.

It began as a one-man show by 35-year-old Richard Gadd at the Edinburgh Fringe, in which Gadd used his own real-life experiences of bullying as a plot.

He stars as a struggling comedian and bartender who is stalked by a woman named Martha, who becomes obsessed with him after he serves her a free cup of tea at the pub where he works.

However, fans of the show managed to track down the real-life Martha on social media: a woman named Fiona Harvey, who admitted she is Martha Scott, but insists most of the story is made up.

She has now filed a £131m lawsuit against Netflix for defamation, negligence and breach of privacy.
