Martha Stewart has revealed what it was like to lose her virginity at age 19 to Andrew ‘Andy’ Stewart, who became her husband.
In her new Netflix documentary, Martha, the 83-year-old exposed some of the secrets of her marriage, which ended in divorce in 1990.
She confessed to having a secret affair and a friend claimed that Andy also cheated on her with a staff member at his Connecticut home.
However, earlier in the film, Martha recalled the early days of her romance with Andy in the early 1960s.

Martha met Andy through her sister, who was a classmate of hers at Barnard College and came to college every day in a Rolls-Royce.
Andy, then a student at Yale Law School, captured Martha’s imagination and won her affection on their first date.
He picked me up in his little yellow Mercedes sedan. I had never been in a Mercedes before,” he recalls in the documentary.
‘We went out to dinner. He was very educated and handsome and had traveled a lot. It was exciting to meet a sophisticated young man who had an American Express card, which was very important in those days. And he was just scheming and playful and nice. By the end of dinner, I was madly in love,” she said.
“Andy was very kind, he was nothing like my father,” said Martha, who previously remembered her father Edward Kostyra drinking red wine and coffee in the mornings before work.
He recalled that Andy “would send me money for a train ticket and I would visit him every weekend at Yale.” I had never slept with anyone before this. “He was very aggressive and I liked it.”
Once Andy ‘proposed’ to her, Martha felt that ‘it seemed like such a natural thing, to fall in love and get married.’ But I went home and told my dad, and my dad slapped me, and he slapped me hard in the face and said, “No, you’re not going to marry him. “He is Jewish.” I remember receiving that slap.
He added: “I wasn’t surprised at all, because he was a fanatic and impulsive, but I told him: ‘I’m getting married no matter what you think.’

The businesswoman’s first and only marriage is the focus of her new Netflix documentary, Martha, which premiered on October 30.
While the TV personality recently opened up about having a secret affair during their marriage, the film revealed that she was left devastated after discovering Andy had cheated on her with a staff member who lived at Turkey Hill Farm, the former couple’s home. in Westport, Connecticut.
Martha’s friend Kathy Tatlock recalled that Andy’s infidelity left the stalwart “frantic” and that she hurt herself, taking out her frustrations on her other employees.
Kathy recalled: “There were rumors that Andy had some kind of relationship with the girl who was doing the flower arrangements at Turkey Hill Farm.
Martha Stewart went crazy after finding out that her ex-husband, Andy Stewart, had cheated on her.
The former couple married in 1961, however by 1987 they had separated.
‘Martha was realizing everything and getting angrier and angrier.
‘I was frantic, with migraines and insomnia. At one point, he showed me where he pulled the hair out of his head.
‘She was mean to her staff. He had lost control of Andy, so he made everyone pay.
Speaking about her ex-husband’s mistress, Martha said that the employee needed a place to stay, so he invited her to move into an apartment in a barn on his property.
“When I was traveling, Andy started with her,” she said. “It was like I made Andy a sandwich.”
Martha claimed she confronted the woman.
She continued: ‘I kicked her out immediately. You know, “What the hell are you doing?”
Reflecting on her anguish, Martha added: ‘Andy betrayed me, right on our property. It’s not nice.

Martha began dating Andy, who has been her only husband to date, when she was just 19 and he was 23, after they set up a blind date.
The couple married in 1961. However, by 1987, the couple had separated and their divorce was finalized in 1990.
The couple shares daughter Alexis, whom they welcomed in 1965.
Offering more insight into the marriage, Kathy said Martha and Andy seemed “more like colleagues than partners in life.”
She said: ‘Andy was very busy in his publishing business and when he was around it was always tense.
“She was critical of him, in terms of how he would dress or how he would say something.
‘Andy managed his business arrangements over the years. They were much more colleagues than companions in life.
“They were in different universes and when Martha wanted Andy to be present in her universe, he couldn’t be there.”
In the trailer for the documentary, Martha made the explosive confession that she also cheated on Andy during their marriage.
She began: ‘Young women, listen to my advice, if you’re married and your husband starts cheating on you, he’s a piece of s**t.’ Get out of that marriage.’
But a producer quickly criticized her for also being unfaithful.
‘Didn’t you have an affair from the beginning?’ They joked, to which Martha replied, ‘Yeah, but I don’t think Andy ever knew about that.’
