Heartbroken friends and neighbours were left speechless after the devastating discovery of a mother and her young daughter found dead in separate bedrooms.

Jennifer Carrig, 53, and her daughter Ella, 13, were discovered inside their Menzies Road home in Marsfield, Syd.North West Ney shortly after 10.20am on Thursday, following a report of concern for welfare.

Their bodies were found in separate rooms and had no signs of injuries.

Police are investigating the circumstances of their deaths but do not believe there are any suspicious circumstances at this time.

The tragedy has sparked an outpouring of tributes to the couple, who had lived in the house for several years.

Mrs Carrig has been remembered as the “best mum” to her family, including her daughter Ella, who was disabled and required full-time care.

“She was the best, so caring and considerate,” Carrig’s best friend Samantha Thomas-Barber told the Daily Telegraph.

Neighbours on the quiet suburban street were “absolutely shocked”.

Many said that They didn’t hear or see anything out of the ordinary Thursday morning until they saw emergency vehicles on their street.

“I’m devastated,” one local told the Daily Telegraph.

“When we saw all the police we didn’t imagine that was the reason.”

Another saw Mrs Carrig’s eldest son sitting in the front, “shivering… (with) his Head in hands, rocking back and forth. It was horrible.

Vera Wen said she was “still shaking” and had seen Ms Carrig leave every day to drop her daughter off at the bus.

She described Ms. Carig as “a very nice lady and very friendly.”

Another resident described them as a lovely family.

“There were always people coming in and out of the house,” he told the Sydney Morning Herald.

“It’s very sad to think that two of them died.”

A family friend told Daily Mail Australia on Thursday that Jennifer took him into her home when he was homeless.

He said he rushed to the house as soon as he heard about the couple’s deaths.

“I can’t believe this happened,” the friend said.

‘Jen has lived here her whole life and that house was supposed to be for her children.

‘The fact that Ella died is just a disaster.

‘I moved out of the house about four months ago and haven’t been back since.

“When I got the call while I was taking a motorcycle driving test, I jumped in an Uber and came straight here.”

He said Ella lived with a disability and that her mother had recently completed renovations to her home.

A third neighbor said Jennifer used to babysit him and that he had known her all his life.

“It’s sad,” he said.

Daily Mail Australia can reveal that a warrant for Ms Carrig’s arrest for violence was issued earlier this year.

He is currently before the courts.

There is no suggestion that the individuals subject to the AVO process played any role in the deaths.

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding their deaths.

Despite establishing a crime scene around the home, police said they do not believe there were any suspicious circumstances at the time.

“The victims did not have gunshot or stab wounds. Until a post-mortem is carried out we will not know more,” a spokesman told Daily Mail Australia on Thursday evening.
