Married wrestling stars CJ Perry and Miro SPLIT after seven years together – as pair (who are also in an on-screen relationship!) vow to move on ‘as friends’ after growing apart

One of wrestling’s most notable couples is divorcing after seven years of marriage, and it’s not part of an on-screen storyline!

AEW’s CJ Perry and Miro, who previously performed under the WWE banner, have broken up, according to a statement first revealed by TMZ.

The couple tied the knot in 2016 and have been married for the past seven years, but their relationship has reportedly been on and off.

TMZ reports that they split for good in the winter of 2023 and have now publicly confirmed that they are no longer together, although neither of them have filed for divorce yet.

In a statement, Perry said: “Miro and I have made the difficult decision to part ways after many wonderful years together, and have decided to move forward as friends and, hopefully, as on-screen characters at some point down the road.”

It is also reported that there was no cheating or fighting involved, but simply that the two wrestling stars have grown apart over time.

However, it can create an awkward dynamic on screen, as the couple also gets married in the ring when performing with All-Elite Wrestling.

Miro, whose real name is Miroslav Barnyashev, is known as Rusev and the couple met in WWE, where they first married, before moving to AEW.

Miro is a former AEW TNT and three-time WWE United States Champion.

The couple still appears together in many social media snaps, including a trip to see Taylor Swift alongside wrestling icon Sheamus last summer.

The high-profile trio and Sheamus’ wife, Isabella Revilla-Farrelly, attended the concert at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, just months before Miro and Perry called it quits.
