Married At First Sight’s Tori Adams has revealed she seriously considered leaving the Channel Nine show prematurely with husband Jack Dunkley.
Speaking to Daily Mail Australia, Tori, 27, admitted that she and Jack were so tired of the orchestrated drama that they wanted to continue their relationship away from the cameras.
“I remember getting to a point where I said to Jack ‘let’s go,’ probably right after the retirement,” he said.
“I was like, ‘let’s go together, we don’t need to be around these people, these aren’t our people, let’s just leave.'”
The decision to stay was driven by the couple’s resilient bond, which formed after feeling alienated by the other participants’ alliances.
“I think we were pretty set in our ways. We knew we were never going to have these people on our side and we didn’t want them,” Tori explained.
‘We were there for each other and we had a very strong dynamic and a very strong relationship. So I think we were armored and ready to go to the end, and we’re very close at this point.”
On the other hand, Tori admitted to feeling isolated and clearly out of place among her castmates on the show.
“I remember I got to a point where I said to Jack ‘let’s go,’ probably right after the retirement,” he revealed.
‘I definitely keep in touch with some old cast members. I don’t feel as isolated now because we’re obviously in the real world and surrounded by our people. But at the time of the show, yeah, it’s absolutely isolating,” he said.
“It just shows people’s true colors, I definitely felt isolated on the show, but I don’t feel that way anymore.”
Tori said that after participating in the experiment she was able to make friends with a few select cast members.
‘There’s obviously a group that I knew wouldn’t come close. And they haven’t done it. And then there are the few who have what I absolutely expected,” he added.
Married At First Sight continues Monday at 7.30pm on Channel Nine
