Married At First Sight’s Melissa Rawson is ‘terrified’ of having children because of the horrific trolling she received on social media.

Speaking of her new podcast with boyfriend Bryce Ruthven, What happens next, the reality star admitted that receiving death threats on Instagram made her reconsider having a child.

“We live in a very different world from one I grew up in when I was just a teenager,” said the 32-year-old.

‘Social media was not that big then, but now it is a completely different environment.’

Bryce then revealed that he and Melissa had already had conversations about their concerns about raising a child in the age of Instagram.

‘I’m terrified and it was such a concern because I’ve experienced what it’s like to be harassed and bullied.

“The death threats we’ve been getting online … I won’t even begin to emphasize how disgusting that is,” she continued.

‘To give birth to a child, give it access to social media at an early age … I couldn’t imagine a child dealing with such disgusting, hurtful, bullying, outrageous comments.

“I’m so scared to think that if one day we had kids, I’d just want to protect them from that.”

Despite Melissa’s sheer fear of online trolling, Bryce said most of the comments he gets on his Instagram page are positive.

“80 percent of the people are actually really nice and friendly and can see through everything that happened on the show,” he said.

Melissa recently revealed that she has been on social media to take care of her mental health.

The Married At First Sight star briefed fans on why she’d been away in an Instagram Stories post shared on Friday.

“ I’ve been off social media for a few days, just had a break, ” she said.

The clip featured an image that read, “Mental Health Matters.”

She was then distracted from further elaboration while her friend Bryce was playing and singing loudly with the football team’s theme song, the Melbourne Storm.
