Married At First Sight’s Lauren Dunn and Jonathan McCullough are all smiles as they enjoy a rare date night out in Sydney

The ‘marriage’ of Married At First Sight’s Lauren Dunn and Jonathan McCullough has been anything but a fairy tale.

But it looks like Lauren, 32, and Jonathan, 39, finally put their differences aside after they were spotted enjoying a rare date night during a break in filming.

The pair were photographed sharing smiles and an intimate evening at Japanese restaurant Miso Teishoku in Sydney, hinting at a blossoming connection.

As they walked away from the cameras and the pressures of the show, Lauren and Jonathan seemed deep in conversation.

Captured looking relaxed and cheerful as they walked through the city streets, Lauren’s laugh seemed to light up the night, with Jonathan matching her bright expression.

Perth-based PR expert Lauren opted for a smart-casual ensemble dressed in a black jacket over a white blouse.

She paired her look with a pair of wide-leg jeans and white sneakers.

Buoya Vital owner Jono opted for a classic, smart-casual look, wearing a clean-cut black sweater paired with black pants. His look is completed with white sneakers.

The rare outing comes after reports that Jono and Lauren wanted almost nothing to do with each other when the cameras weren’t rolling.

“Lauren didn’t want to spend time with Jono when they weren’t filming,” a well-placed source told Daily Mail Australia.

“Although they had some really good times, Lauren often preferred to go out with friends, watch reality TV, and ignore him when he asked her if she wanted dinner.”

“The rest of the cast felt sorry for him, she barely looked up from her phone or even responded when he tried to talk to her.”

Jono, for his part, seemed to prioritize his gym sessions, while Lauren was happy with her sleep and was frequently seen with fellow girlfriend Sara Mesa.

Even though producers warned the cast not to catch up, Lauren and Sara didn’t have a care in the world as they continued planning outings together without their partners.

Another source defended Lauren, suggesting a feeling of betrayal on Jono’s part because he ‘hung her out to dry’ at dinner parties.

“Lauren had absolutely no interest in spending any more time with him than necessary on some weekends. “She felt betrayed and disappointed,” the source said.
