In an explosive revelation with WhatsNew2Day Australia, the health business owner, 39, went rogue and admitted he had a secret pact with his TV girlfriend Lauren Dunn in a bid to boost his public profiles.

“After applying for the program, going through months of applications and packing your bags, you really don’t want to go home the first week,” Jono confessed.

However, the couple’s alliance quickly soured and Jono revealed Lauren’s nasty behind-the-scenes comments about him.

But of course, on Lauren’s side they didn’t take care of each other. Immediately behind my back she said, “I’m a boring robot,” she explained.

“It’s like living with a serial killer, and I had no idea she was saying this, but it was a good story and it seems like they (the producers) decided to move on.”

Jono claims that the production team took advantage of Lauren’s assessment of him, followed the narrative, and edited the footage to make it appear that way.

“They just found footage of me staring when I should have been talking, and yeah, it was very, very hard to watch, actually,” he said.

Jono also recounted a heated moment on the show, where Lauren’s actions were publicly criticized by another participant.

“Jayden (Eynaud) said, ‘That’s it, Lauren, shut up. You treated Jono like shit. You had a boyfriend,” she said.

Despite these revelations, Jono expressed a sense of empathy toward Lauren, particularly in light of the backlash she faced.

“But originally she was upset that the table turned against her, and that was led by Jayden,” he reflected. “And seeing it last night, I even felt sorry for Lauren.”

The new couple angered both their co-stars and viewers when they announced their relationship during the show’s reunion episode on Sunday night after denying they had feelings for each other.

The pair also exchanged secret text messages after Ellie decided to end her relationship with her boyfriend Ben Walters and abandon the experiment.

‘It was really hard. “I feel so exhausted just watching Monday’s episode,” Ellie told WhatsNew2Day Australia.

The couple felt that the producers deliberately decided to portray their new relationship in a negative light and once again edited the footage to make it appear that way.

“We were hoping they would show it as something beautiful that came out of this experiment, and they just chose to show us looking quite evil, like laughing at Sara, Tim and Lauren, and that’s not how it happened,” Jono said.

They claim that their physical affection has been misrepresented, which Jono believes was exaggerated.

“I think they showed all the PDA we had for 6 hours and some of it several times in a minute,” he said.

“I can understand why people would say we’re bad people after seeing that, but that’s not how it happened,” Ellie added.

‘Actually, I’ve never been called a “bad girl” in my life. And anyone I know tells me, ‘I can’t believe she’s Ellie.’ It’s just not me.
