Married At First Sight’s Duncan James shares details of his ‘proposal’ to girlfriend Evelyn Ellis as they prepare to celebrate their one-year anniversary

Married at First Sight star Duncan James revealed the sweet way he made his relationship with Evelyn Ellis official.

The 38-year-old said 9Entertainment Tuesday, about the “proposal” he made to Evelyn when they became a couple.

“We were at a restaurant in Manly. We had several dates…there weren’t many people in the restaurant actually,” he said.

“I didn’t realize you had to officially ask someone, ‘Will you be my partner?’

Duncan then popped the question and asked Evelyn if she would like to be his girlfriend.

“It almost seemed like a proposal, but really I was just asking someone to be my girlfriend,” he added.

Duncan and Evelyn have been going strong since announcing their relationship in May last year.

At the time, Evelyn confirmed her relationship with fellow MAFS groom Duncan, who was partnered with Alyssa Barmonde on the show.

Both men said it was “exhilarating” and “liberating” to finally go public after months of rumors.

” We are a couple. It’s our tough launch,” Evelyn told Nine.com.au.

“It feels good to finally be able to say it and it’s kind of exhilarating in a weird, liberating way,” the Maxim cover girl added with a laugh.

In August last year, the couple took the next step in their relationship and moved in together.
