The Married At First Sight reunion on Sunday night was filled with explosive arguments, cheating scandals and heartwarming love stories.
But one groom who was noticeably absent was fan favorite Chris Jensen, who failed to make it to the final – despite his spurned bride Jaimie Gardner attending.
According to a source, the 32-year-old FIFO employee decided not to be there to avoid coming face to face with his ex-bride because he ‘didn’t want to put himself in a position’ to be involved in a showdown with Jaimie again.
Not a show: A groom who was noticeably absent from the MAFS reunion was fan favorite Chris Jensen, who failed to rock out to the drama-filled finale – despite his spurned bride Jaimie Gardner attending.
Despite the show thriving on drama – and seeing the likes of Bryce Ruthven and Rebecca Zemek grilled over their rumors of cheating scandals – Chris decided he didn’t want the negativity attending Sunday’s episode would bring.
He doesn’t want to see her anymore. He is not the kind of person who likes to confront on purpose. It’s the opposite of what he stands for, ‘a source told Daily Mail Australia.
Chris was a latecomer to this year’s series and sensationally walked away from Jaimie after accusing her of trying to fake their marriage on camera.
“Jaimie tried to convince him to stay, begging him not to be too nice to make her attitude and what she said about him look good.”
The source went on to say that Chris was “devastated” to be paired with Jaimie.
Not again! According to a source, the Sunshine Coast father of two ‘didn’t want to put himself in a position to be attacked again’ by his ‘wife’

His intentions in signing up for MAFS were for all the right reasons. He didn’t care [for fame] and did not expect his past to surface again. ‘
They went on to say, ‘Chris had 138 followers on Instagram before the show, and if any charity work comes his way in the future, he will definitely raise his hand.’
Clearly, Chris’s decision to “ politely decline ” the invitation to return came as no surprise to producers, after they willingly let Chris walk away from the show.
The news comes just weeks after it was announced that Chris had been arrested on drugs charges before appearing on Married At First Sight.
The reality star faces one count of dangerous drug trafficking: serious organized crime.
He was scheduled to appear before the Brisbane Supreme Court last month, but the case was postponed to April 23.
No thank you! Obviously, Chris’s decision to “ politely decline ” the opportunity to return to the show came as no surprise to producers, after they willingly let him go.
Chris had previously received bail from the Supreme Court, The Courier Mail reported.
In a conversation with Daily Mail Australia last month, Queensland courts and the Department of Justice and Attorney General confirmed the charges.
He was arrested along with three co-defendants, all of whom are facing similar charges.
A Brisbane Magistrates Court spokesperson told The Courier Mail that Chris last appeared in court on October 30, 2020, after receiving magistrate bail in 2018.
During his last appearance, his bail was increased and the case was postponed until July 23.
Chris also faces several charges of possession of dangerous drugs, possession of anything used in the commission of a crime, possession of used utensils or pipes and two charges of possession suspected of being the proceeds of a crime under the Drugs Misuse Act.
