MailOnline has contacted Alex Henry and Channel 4 for comment.

A MAFS UK spokesperson said: ‘MAFS UK contributors are subject to rigorous background checks, including multiple independent psychological assessments and a criminal record check before being allowed to participate.

“We select employees based on the information we can legally access and we continue to review this process to ensure that the checks are as comprehensive as legally possible.”
