Viewers were shocked by Married At First Sight boyfriend Ash Galati’s revelation on Monday’s episode that his brother had suffered an untimely death.

Daily Mail Australia can now reveal that his brother, Peter, was fatally injured in a violent altercation with a former best friend in North Melbourne in 2021.

Police allege a dispute on Mahoneys Rd in Reservoir at around 4.30pm on December 6 quickly escalated, causing Peter, 44, to suffer injuries which proved fatal.

He was treated by paramedics but died at the scene.

Police, in their statement at the time of the incident, reported that one man received injuries to his “lower body.”

Authorities acted quickly and arrested a 44-year-old Reservoir man suspected of the murder.
