Married At First Sight’s Melissa Rawson has shared a very relatable post about motherhood and childcare guilt.
Melissa, 31, shared a video of her crying in her car after dropping off her sons, Levi and Tate, three, at daycare in Melbourne.
The mother of two found love with her husband Bryce Ruthven on the eighth season of the reality show.
‘We are on our third day of child care orientation. I don’t know who it’s harder for, Levi or me,’ Melissa began in the immensely vulnerable video, which she recorded in 2023.
In the video’s caption, Melissa explained that she recorded the video before the family moved to the Gold Coast.
Filmed in her car outside daycare, Melissa didn’t hide her tears as she explained how guilty she felt about leaving her son to return to work.
“Levi just doesn’t like it,” she said through tears. ‘I know it will eventually, but I don’t always feel like a damn mother.
“I know I’m doing the best I can and I know this is the best for him, and I have to get back to work.”

The self-described mummy blogger has maintained a large following years after his appearance on MAFS in 2020, due to his candid revelations about fatherhood and his unfiltered confessionals.
However, some of his posts have been criticized by online trolls, who are not fans of the down-to-earth approach he takes to posting.
“I have to go back to work full time,” Melissa sobbed. “It’s so heartbreaking because he’s just screaming.”
She explained how her heart broke hearing her son calling her repeatedly.
‘I just left Levi again and he’s screaming for me. Mom, mom, mom. I don’t know what to do.’
The Gold Coast mother said she filmed the video of her breaking down after dropping her twins off at nursery in 2023, but is experiencing the same emotions after moving the family from Melbourne.
Melissa said she felt ashamed that she had broken down in front of other parents and daycare staff.
“Of course I’m the one who breaks down in kindergarten in front of all the educators,” she laments. ‘When does it get easier?’
With her hands covering her eyes, the former MAFS girlfriend sobbed openly.
“The twins, who now live on the Gold Coast, started working at a new nursery this week,” Melissa wrote.
‘Today is your second day. And I feel the same now as I did last year. Except now that the twins are older, they’re more aware that I’m gone and they don’t know when, or even if, Mom will be back.’
The season eight sweetheart, 35, shares her two-year-old children with husband Bryce Ruthven, who she met on Channel Nine’s dating experiment.
“That said, I’m lucky to have all of this in the first place.”
Followers were quick to share words of support and explain how normal it is to have “mom guilt.”
‘My biggest advice as a mother is that delivery should be fast. “The longer you stay to appease the child, the worse it will be for both of you,” one mother wrote.
Others encouraged Melissa to try having her husband Bryce do deliveries to build relationships with caregivers and assured her that things would improve over time.
“The fact that you feel this way tells me that you’re not such a damn mother,” one follower wrote. “Taking care of children is very difficult at first, but in the end the children love seeing their friends and having fun at daycare.”

Bryce and Melissa’s relationship was easily the most controversial during the explosive eighth season of MAFS and Bryce was arguably one of the most controversial boyfriends.
He was infamously branded “toxic” after he told Melissa that she wasn’t his “type” on the show and sparked a huge reaction from fans at the time.
In February last year, Melissa and Bryce legally exchanged vows at a beachside wedding in Sorrento, Victoria.
