Married At First Sight groom Timothy Smith is spotted on another reality television show from over a decade ago – and you’ll never guess which series he appeared on

Married At First Sight fans discovered that Timothy Smith is no stranger to the small screen after footage of him on another reality TV show resurfaced.

The real estate mogul, 51, who was unsuccessfully paired with fan-favorite girlfriend Lucinda Light in the 2024 season, made another TV appearance about 11 years ago.

An Instagram fan account known as MAFSUncensored shared a video of Timothy appearing in a Canadian series called The Liquidator in 2013.

In the repeat episode, Timothy and a woman named Collette arrived at a thrift store to haggle with the show’s main star, Jeff Schwarz.

Jeff, who makes a living scavenging unwanted items, tried to negotiate a price with gin distillery owner Timothy, who wanted to buy a polar bear statue.

“We just opened a restaurant,” Collette said, referring to Timothy’s restaurant in Vancouver called Koala Kebabs, which has since closed.

Timothy went on to confirm with Jeff that he was there to “buy a bear,” which he intended to modify to look like a koala for his restaurant.

Jeff offered the polar bear to Timothy for $1,150, after originally purchasing it for $350, but he was having none of it and haggled it down to $700 with his recognizable determined attitude.

“I don’t think I got a good deal, but I think I did,” Timothy told producers later in the episode.

Timothy previously moved to Canada with his ex-wife, who is not Collette, after she became homesick for living in Australia.

They originally met in Vancouver and married when he was 19 before arriving in Australia. They later returned to Canada to be closer to his family.

Now back living in Australia, Timothy is now widely recognized for starring on season 11 of MAFS this year, where he was paired with Lucinda, 43, from whom he split.

The pair started out with a “slow” connection but then made great progress, sharing an intimate kiss at dinner and gushing to experts about their bond.

However, things got complicated when the pair had an epic fight during Homestays week after Lucinda was left disappointed when Timothy stormed off and disappeared for seven hours.

They both wrote ‘leave’ at the following Commitment Ceremony when they decided they were better off as friends.

Even though their romance didn’t work out, the former couple has maintained a close friendship and have been seen together since filming wrapped.
