Married At First Sight boyfriend Brent Vitiello has responded to claims his Mos x Daily sea moss business is a “scam” after disgruntled customers criticized him on social media.
Last year, the former reality TV star, 36, launched the business to sell jars of sea moss, a superfood rich in vitamins and minerals that has gained popularity in the industry.
However, Brent has been inundated with complaints from disappointed customers who claimed they never received their product after sending him money.
Brent told Daily Mail Australia that many of the unhappy customers who called his business a “scam” were presenting a one-sided and incomplete picture of what happened.
‘We decided to distribute free products. Free, without even making money from it. 30,000 people joined the sale and we harvested freshly and made each package to order. There were always going to be delays,” Brent said.
‘I don’t have time nor will I accept the word scam when we ship products and have over a hundred employees working 24 hours a day to make this happen. “It takes away their hard work.”
Married At First Sight boyfriend Brent Vitiello (pictured) has hit back at claims his Mos x Daily sea moss business is a “scam” after disgruntled customers criticized him on social media.
He claimed he did not have time to “cancel culture” because dissatisfied customers complained that their free sea moss had not been delivered on time.
“This cancel culture nonsense, online harassment, and tantrums over a delay in the delivery of free products are an example of what we face every day,” he added.
“It’s all about influence when we do this for people and we take criticism and ridicule with a smile and move on.”
While Brent’s business did indeed give out free orders of sea moss to anyone who signed up, people still had to pay for shipping and handling.
Meanwhile, Brent recently took to TikTok to push back against suggestions that his company was a “scam.”
“Every time that word is used, it detracts from the hard work of over 100 employees who work around the clock to make sure this brand produces basically the best sea moss in the world,” he said.
He added that his company operated a different business model than its competitors and as a result there would be some unfortunate delays, and asked his customers to show some understanding.
“My whole purpose was to create a company that harvested the purest, freshest sea moss from the most biodiverse reef in the world,” Brent said.
The former reality TV star, 36, launched the business earlier this year to sell jars of sea moss, a superfood rich in vitamins and minerals that has gained popularity in the industry.
Brent has been inundated with complaints from unhappy customers who claimed they never received their product after sending him their money. While Brent’s company did indeed give out free orders of sea moss to anyone who signed up, people still had to pay for shipping.
‘We do not ship directly or sell dead material, ours is the purest on the market. That entails many difficulties. It’s disheartening that people are making fun of that.
“I’m not going to go against our quality to speed up the process.”
Brent then said that delays were to be expected due to his unique business model and assured customers that it was worth it to get the purest sea moss on the market.
He added that his business was not a “cash grab” but a labor of love, and asked people to stop making angry videos on TikTok claiming they were “scammed” by him.
The video has been viewed thousands of times since it was uploaded earlier this week, with comments disabled.
Brent has been experiencing problems with the business since launching it last year. Shortly after its launch, its brand ran into trouble when angry customers claimed they were still ready to see its products after paying for them online.
Brent previously said there were problems with international distribution of sea moss because it spoils after 30 days and they had to change shipping companies to ensure faster delivery.
He previously claimed that his product has helped “thousands” of people while continuing to praise his product and its supposed benefits amid order issues.
Brent rose to fame in the ninth series of MAFS in 2022, where he was “married” to Tamara Djordjevic.
Unfortunately, their ill-fated romance went from bad to worse on the show, before they went their separate ways during their explosive final vows.
