Marozsan initially on the bench at the DFB farewell

Date:

National soccer player Dzsenifer Marozsan is scheduled to come on as a substitute in the second half of her last international match on Tuesday (6:00 p.m. / ARD) against Brazil.

This was announced by national coach Martina Voss-Tecklenburg, who decided against the 30-year-old starting eleven.

“We discussed in advance that we have a task as a team before the World Cup. We’re all fine with that,” said Voss-Tecklenburg, who still wants to offer Marozsan the “appropriate framework” in farewell. The game against Brazil is part of the preparations for the World Cup in Australia and New Zealand (July 20 to August 20).

The national coach has to do without goalkeeper Merle Frohms, who was substituted at half-time due to back problems after her brilliant performance in the win in the Netherlands (1-0). They should be replaced by Ann-Katrin Berger from Chelsea, who is also in good form. Marina Hegering, who left on Sunday with knee problems, and Nicole Anyomi (foot injury) will also not be there.

Marozsan will play her 112th international match for the DFB women in Nuremberg in front of more than 30,000 fans. The 2013 European champion and 2016 Olympic champion suffered a cruciate ligament rupture in spring 2022 and missed the final at the European Championships in England last summer. In mid-March she announced the end of her career in the national team.
