Australian foodies are flocking to an innovative drive-thru selling “delicious” and “healthy” budget meals.
Marketcart recently opened a new location in Kedron, Queensland, and all meals are under $13.
Marketcart has struck a balance between ‘fast food’ and ‘healthy eats’, with all menu items made from scratch every day using high-quality Australian ingredients.
The restaurant offers customers whole foods you’d expect to find at your local farmers market, from freshly made sandwiches and salads to burritos and hot breakfasts to go.
“Our philosophy is simple,” said co-owner Andrea Harcourt. “We believe fast food can be healthy and combine whole food values with today’s conveniences.”

Marketcart has mastered the impossible combination of ‘fast food’ and ‘healthy meals’ where every menu item is made from scratch every day.
Ms Harcourt told FEMAIL the brand’s aim is to make healthy eating as easy as hopping in the car and buying junk food.
“One of the main reasons we can offer such low prices is because we have been in business for ten years and have two other restaurants,” he said.
‘We wanted to see if we could apply our concept of healthy eating for less to a drive-thru.
“Our customers value their health and want to be able to eat healthy, even when they are away from home.”
He revealed that special attention is paid to sourcing high-quality ingredients locally from other small businesses and farmers.
‘All of our smoothies are made from 100 per cent Australian grown fruit, and all the meat and milk we use is also locally sourced. Nothing matters,’ he stated.
None of the foods contain additives or preservatives that are common in mass production.
“We offer the self-service alternative for people who want to take care of themselves and appreciate good coffee,” Andrea said proudly.
The owner revealed that special attention is paid to sourcing high-quality ingredients locally from other small businesses and farmers.
He also said Marketcart’s meals are nutritionally balanced using evidence-based nutrition.
‘It is not diet food or rabbit food. “It’s just real food because it’s unprocessed, handmade and balanced.”
Marketcart Kedron Drive Thru is open seven days a week from 5am Monday to Friday and from 6am on weekends for breakfast and lunch.
Marketcart also has cafes on the Royal Brisbane Hospital campus and at the University of Queensland’s St Lucia campus.
All locations also sell their specialty coffee, which comes from popular Fortitude Valley roasters Bear Bones.
