Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg has finally broken his silence on the “Doomsday bunker” that many believe is being built under his $270 million mansion in Hawaii.
Zuckerberg, 40, has long been rumored to have built a 50,000-square-foot building. ft. bunker beneath its 1,400-acre property on the island of Kauai, one of the northernmost islands in the northern Pacific archipelago.
When asked by Bloomberg’s Emily Chang if he had a bunker under his lavish homestead, Zuckerberg said, “No, I think that’s like a little hideout.” It’s like a basement.
“We have the simple house that we built, and we built an office there because that’s where I work. There’s a lot of storage, whatever you want to call it, a hurricane shelter or whatever.
“I think it’s been blown out of proportion, like the whole ranch is some kind of Doomsday bunker, which is just not true.”
According to documents obtained by WiredThe Hawaiian complex, which is large enough to accommodate 1,060 American football fields, will be completely self-sufficient with its own food, energy and water supply.
The plans showed that the underground bunker has a floor area of 5,000 square meters. ft., and has a living area, a technical room and an escape hatch that can be reached via a ladder.
It is also said to have an explosion-proof door made of concrete and metal.

The local population was furious that Zuckerberg had bought large parts of the island for himself
According to Wired, many of the contractors working on the project were required to sign non-disclosure agreements.
And locals were furious that Zuckerberg had bought large parts of the island for himself.
In 2016, Allan Parachini, a local journalist, wrote an excoriating piece calling out Zuckerberg for “erecting a rock wall in front of his 700-acre oceanfront estate.”
Parachini urged residents to “tell Zuckerberg that it is unacceptable to abuse his stewardship of public beaches as if we are just another group of Facebook victims.”
Zuckerberg is just one of the 1% who reportedly prepared for the end of the world.
Kim Kardashian, Shaquille O’Neal and Tom Cruise are said to have built bunkers or temporary safe rooms. Bill Gates apparently has bunkers under his houses.
Ron Hubbard, CEO of Texas-based Atlas Survival Shelters, told The Hollywood Reporter that his company received numerous calls after news of Zuckerberg’s bunker was reported, sparking a “buying frenzy.”
‘It got very busy and it seems like the phone hasn’t stopped ringing; It looks like World War III is coming,” he said.

Robert Vicino, founder of Del Mar, California-based Vivos, which creates underground survival shelters, added: “Now that Zuckerberg has let the cat out of the bag, other people who share or are close to his status have started to think twice. , ‘Oh God, if he does that, maybe he knows something I don’t know, maybe I should look this up myself.’
“But it’s no secret that the one percent and top government officials have been working on this bunker idea for a long time.
“The pandemic was a huge driver of sales interest; then all global concerns and problems in our own country will be a new impetus. We are here to provide peace of mind solutions.”
