Mark Wahlberg doesn’t regret moving his family from Los Angeles to Las Vegas in 2022.
“It’s a place where my kids can thrive, do what they want and pursue their interests,” the 52-year-old actor said of the family’s new home base, via People.
The Invincible star – who invested in a Catholic prayer app – and his wife Rhea Durham share four children: daughters Ella, 20, and Grace, 14, and sons Michael, 17, and Brendan, 15 years old.
“So being able to give my kids a better life and follow and pursue their dreams – whether it was my daughter as a horse rider, my son as a basketball player, my youngest son as a golfer – it made a lot more sense for us.,’ he continued.
His oldest daughter, Ella, is a student at Clemson University in South Carolina, and his three youngest children attend Bishop Gorman High School, a college preparatory school with a long history of academic and athletic success.

The Cape Fear actor also gave Mark and his wife a change to shake things up and get a fresh start.
He said the move to Nevada was an opportunity to “give us a new look, a new start for the kids,” adding, “I’m really excited about the future.”
“Everyone has adapted well. The children are all in school and everyone is happy,” he shared.
In an interview last week on Today’s show, saying, “Every free moment I have, I’m at home. I want to be able to work from home.
He said he used to say he had to be in Los Angeles for his career, but his wife called him about it and pointed out that he had only done a few films filmed in Los Angeles.
He continued: “I moved to California many years ago to become an actor and only made a few films during my entire time there.”
“I spent a lot of time in Los Angeles pursuing my interests and my career and now it’s time for them to pursue theirs,” he said.
“Everyone is thriving there, it’s been great.”

Bishop Gorman High School, where his children attend school, is a Roman Catholic college preparatory school founded in 1954.
Notably, Nevada does not have a personal income tax. But Wahlberg insists he also wants his children to have a “better life” and hopes state tax breaks will eventually allow him to start his own film studio, a “Hollywood 2.0.” .
He also indicated that he had little time for the woke culture that now grips California.
Wahlberg and his family left behind a 30,000 square foot mega-mansion in Beverly Hills, worth $90 million, complete with a swimming pool, movie theater, golf course and, of course, from his own chapel.
