Mark Wahlberg’s story of racially motivated attacks has resurfaced again after the actor came under fire for presenting the SAG Award to the Asian cast of Everything Everywhere All At Once.
He presented the awards to the cast on Sunday, 35 years after he was convicted of assaulting two Asian men.
The 51-year-old Ted actor was charged twice with race-related crimes while living in Boston in the 1980s as a teenager.

The group only stopped when an ambulance driver intervened, and Wahlberg harassed another group of mostly black children on the beach the next day.

Officers say he used racial slurs to describe both men, and Wahlberg was found guilty of violating his victims’ civil rights.
A civil rights injunction was issued against him and two of his friends, and the case was quickly settled in court.
He was also charged with attempted murder, but pleaded guilty to felony assault, claiming he was intoxicated and the attacks were not related to race.
Wahlberg was found to be in contempt of court due to the civil rights court order, which prohibited him from assaulting, threatening, or intimidating anyone based on race or national origin.
The actor was sentenced to two years in prison, but only broke 45 days of his sentence for the attack on the Vietnamese.
In 2014, he then tried to seek a pardon for the second attack and expunge it from his criminal record.
