The director of Channel Seven’s flagship show Spotlight has left the network after a whistleblower made explosive allegations.
Mark Llewellyn, Spotlight’s executive producer since 2020, handed in his security pass Wednesday night.
His dismissal follows the network’s exclusive interview with accused rapist Bruce Lehrmann that aired in June 2023.
The interview was arranged by former producer Taylor Auerbach, who later reported Seven for what it considered unethical methods of gaining access to Mr Lehrmann.
Auerbach alleged that Seven reimbursed Lehrmann for payment for the cocaine and sex workers before his interview.
Llewellyn will not return to his position and has hired attorney John Laxon to negotiate his severance package.

Mr. Llewellyn’s departure was first reported by The Australian and it is the first significant development since Mr. Auerbach’s accusations.
