Firebrand Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene on Saturday criticized calls to ban assault weapons in the wake of the deadly mass shooting at an LGBTQ nightclub in Colorado Springs.

It also labeled the shooter “a transgender” after defense attorneys said the suspect uses “they/them” pronouns, which could possibly complicate prosecutorial pressure on hate crime charges.

The Georgia Republican capped off the Twitter post with a photo of herself smiling while crouching over a dead wild hog and armed with an assault rifle.

Anderson Lee Aldrich, 22, is accused of killing five people and injuring more than a dozen after opening fire at Club Q on the night of November 19.

Human rights activists and the LGBTQ community have denounced the shooting as motivated by anti-gay hate and blamed right-wing voices for fomenting it through the current heated culture war over the rights of transgender youth.

Democrats led by President Joe Biden have renewed calls to ban assault weapons in the aftermath of the shooting. Aldrich used an assault-style weapon and a handgun to carry out his attack, authorities said.

But Greene came out in force on Saturday, calling the AR-15, a popular semi-automatic rifle, his “go-to” firearm despite hundreds of mass shooting deaths in the US being credited with it.

The Conservative lawmaker openly underscored her point with a photo of herself, armed with what appears to be an AR-15, standing on top of a dead pig.

Photos of shooting victims are displayed at a makeshift memorial outside Club Q on Tuesday, November 22, 2022, in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

“The AR-15 is my favorite weapon for hunting and home defense,” Greene wrote on Twitter.

“Banning ‘assault weapons’ will not stop a transgender from shooting their own LGBTQ community or any other killer who already breaks the laws to kill people.”

She claimed that ‘more gun control laws just create more helpless victims’.

Greene also lashed out at Biden directly, calling him a “career politician in office longer than I’ve been alive and he knows NOTHING about guns.”

“Joe is an elite politician who enjoys the protection of AR-15s but wants to take your guns away and leave you defenseless at the mercy of criminals who don’t care about the law,” the congresswoman said.

‘I will always protect the GREAT American Second Amendment! No to the assault weapons ban!

The photo appears to be a still from Greene’s previous campaign for a chance to win a hog hunting trip with it.

Aldrich, the Colorado Springs shooter, is currently in custody on murder and hate crime charges.

Formerly known as Nicholas Brink, Aldrich is the grandson of a California Republican assemblyman named Rep. Randy Voepel, who has embraced far-right beliefs such as supporting the Jan. 6 Capitol riot.

The shooter’s biological father was recorded by CBS 8 San Diego reacting to the news of the mass murder, appearing to be more concerned that his son was potentially LGBTQ than that he would be accused of murder.

I went on to find out that it is a gay bar. I freaked out, “Shit, is he gay?” And he’s not gay, so I was like, ugh,” Aaron Brink told the local station. I am a conservative republican.

Biden told reporters in Nantucket, where he spent Thanksgiving, that he would renew attempts to pass an assault weapons ban after the Colorado Springs shooting and another deadly massacre in Virginia this month.

“The idea that we still allow the purchase of semi-automatic weapons is sick. Just sick,’ the president said during the holidays.

He promised: ‘I’m going to try to get rid of the assault weapons.’
