Marisa Tomei made quite an impression at the opening night of the new Broadway production of An Enemy Of The People, which took place at the Square Theater on Monday evening.

The 59-year-old performer flashed a smile as he posed for a few photos before the start of the play written by Henrik Ibsen.

The actress – who recently joined Camila Mendes at a premiere – donned a light blue crew-neck sweater under a plaid trench coat that kept her warm in the chilly New York weather.

Tomei tucked her sweater into slightly baggy black pants and she also wore a pair of patterned socks during the event.

The My Cousin Vinny actress completed her evening look with leather shoes and a pair of jet black sunglasses.

Her gorgeous light brown hair remained flowing and cascaded over her shoulders and chest as she posed for the snaps.

One of Tomei’s most recent appearances in a filmed project was in the romantic comedy feature Upgraded, released earlier this year.

The film was an updated version of Cinderella and centered around an intern who pretends to be her handsome coworker’s boss.

Besides Tomei, the feature film’s cast was rounded out by performers such as Mendes, Archie Renaux and Lena Olin.

Upgraded, directed by Carlson Young, debuted on the Amazon Prime Video streaming service last February.

The feature film received generally positive reviews and currently holds a 77% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

Tomei recently spoke to Today about working on the feature film and said she was initially unsure whether she could portray a particularly aggressive character.

The artist said: “It’s difficult for me to do this. I’m like, ‘No one’s going to take me seriously.’

The actress later said that she ended up enjoying playing an unlikeable character while filming her scenes.

“I thought I could probably push it even more. I told myself to continue. Just… let it rip. Don’t worry about being nice, she said.

Tomei also noted that she played the character with a slightly exaggerated accent in order to show some of her fictional personality to the audience.

“She is her own creation. She wants the atmosphere around her to crackle. So we invented (the accent),” she recalls.
