Mariners Welcome ‘Love Is Blind’ Season 4 Couple to Throw Out First Pitch After Heartfelt Reunion Special

Date:

Love is blind stars Chelsea Griffin and Kwame Appiah are enjoying their time in the spotlight as they put a twist on married life.

The pair visited Seattle’s T-Mobile Park on Wednesday to throw the first pitch for the Seattle Mariners’ matinee showdown, one of the couple’s first public appearances since the Netflix dating show’s fourth season aired. The Milwaukee Brewers won 5-3 against the Mariners in the Major League Baseball game.

A native of Seattle, Griffin said she has been a lifelong Mariners fan and was thrilled to leave the field as her friends and family cheered for her. Appiah and Griffin both wore Mariners jerseys with “Appiah” printed on the back, and they took the mound together when Griffin threw the ceremonial pitch to Mariners outfielder Jarred Kelenic.

Appiah shared footage and photos from the game on his Instagram stories, adding the message “Surreal!” over one of the shots. The couple later watched the MLB game from a baseball field suite with Griffin’s loved ones.

Also joining the pair on the field at the start of the game were fellow Seattle residents Zack Goytowski and Bliss Poureetezadi. An unlikely success story, the couple also tied the knot this season, despite Goytowski initially proposing to Irina Solomonova before they soon split.

During the show’s season four reunion, which was hampered by technical difficulties during Netflix’s attempt to stream it live, Griffin and Appiah discussed the poolside chat Appiah shared with Micah Lussier when they seemed to reconnect in Mexico after they bonded in the pods. During the reunion, Griffin admitted that scenes of Appiah talking to Lussier were hard to watch, but he confirmed, “We’re happily married now.”

For his part, Appiah explained during the special, “At the end of the day, by the time we got out of the pods in the experiment and by the time we got to Mexico, it would be with Chelsea. So there are no second guesses; there is no ‘I wish this’ or ‘I wish that’. Everything went as it should.”
