A navy was shot in his barracks, reportedly by one of his comrades, at their airbase in South Carolina.
Cpl. Tyler Wallingford, 21, died on Friday after being shot in his barracks at the Beaufort Marine Corps Air Station in South Carolina.
Cpl. Spencer Daily, who is also 21, is being held for his death.
It is unclear why he reportedly shot Wallingford, a beloved son and friend who was also a volunteer firefighter.

The Naval Criminal Investigative Service leads the investigation into his death.
Second Lieutenant Kevin Buss, a spokesperson for the Marines, has not yet revealed what the alleged motive of Daily was.
& # 39; Our deepest condolences go to the family and friends of our fallen Marine & # 39 ;, he told DailyMail.com in a statement.
It is unclear how long he and Wallingford had been in the army.
The couple were friends on Facebook and both were Aircraft Ordnance Technicians with VMFAT-501.
Recruited daily in 2015 and Wallingford applied in 2016.

The alleged motive of Daily is unknown

The young man's parents have not yet spoken about his death.

& # 39; You were such a good person & # 39 ;, a friend said in a tribute on social media.
According to his social media page, he only had a girlfriend two months ago. She still has to publicly comment on his death.
