Margot Robbie joins the picket line as the SAG-AFTRA strike approaches its second month – months after starring in the hit film Barbie

She starred in the highest-grossing film of the year just a few months ago, and on Wednesday, Margot Robbie joined her fellow actors to fight for their rights at a SAG-AFTRA rally.

Actress Barbie, 33, held up a poster as she marched from Netflix to Paramount Studios with an army of protesters in West Hollywood.

Hollywood actors and writers are currently united in their first “double strike” in more than 60 years, vowing they will protect all industry workers from being replaced by AI, among other concerns.

The Writers Guild of America began the strike in May, followed by SAG-AFTRA, the union representing actors, on July 14.

Make his voice heard ! Margot Robbie joined her fellow actors to fight for their rights at a SAG-AFTRA rally on Wednesday.

The industrial action threatened to decimate the entertainment industry as production of major films and television shows ground to a halt.

Even though the strike is in its second month, Margot seemed in good spirits as she took to the sidewalk with her friends.

Margot wore an oversized white SAG-AFTRA t-shirt, her blonde hair down and stylish sunglasses.

She walked down the street in chunky white sneakers while proudly holding her poster high above her head.

The WGA writers and SAG-AFTRA cast have been united in many of their demands against studios and streamers.

They are seeking fairer salaries and base pay in general, as writer and actor salaries have failed to keep up with inflation.

Streaming services are a particular target because shows and movies released on these services provide minuscule residuals compared to broadcasts on traditional television networks.

Writers also hope that studios will agree to minimum size requirements for TV show writers’ rooms, and both unions hope that AMPTP will agree not to use AI to replace actors or to create scripts.

However, studios and streamers have seemingly doubled down on their refusal to give up the possibility of using AI in the future, which ironically seems to have validated unions’ concerns.

Margot’s appearance on the picket line comes just months after she traveled the world to promote her hit summer movie Barbie.

It was officially named the highest-grossing film of 2023, just one month after its theatrical release.
