More than a dozen brides have been left without a wedding venue and hundreds of thousands of dollars out of pocket after a popular wedding venue went into administration.

Black Brewing Co, in the Margaret River wine region, three hours south of Perth, has collapsed. owes more than a million dollars, giving the distraught bride and groom just one day’s notice that it will close its doors for the last time on Saturday.

Kirsten and Hayden, who booked the venue last August with a $5,000 deposit, are getting married in eight weeks and their family is flying in from New Zealand.

Just two weeks ago they paid Black Brewing Co another $10,000 – but now we don’t have a place to serve them.

The couple received an email on Thursday night from Black Brewing Co saying it had gone into voluntary administration, and Kirsten told them 7news she feels “angry… like I’ve been robbed.”

Kirsten said she had spoken to administrators by phone on Friday but had received no satisfaction.

“It looks like we’re not going to get much back,” he said.

At least 15 other couples have been affected by the sudden closure of the establishment.

In a statement posted online, Black Brewing Co said it would close at the end of Saturday “due to unforeseen circumstances”.

“We would like to thank you all for being a part of our time in this beautiful region and commend your loyalty to us as a local brewery, distillery and restaurant,” the company said.

“It has been an eight-year journey full of action and an incredible staff who we would also like to thank for being a part of our story.”
