It comes after Margaret was promoting her critically acclaimed body horror film The Substance on The Tonight Show when she revealed some interesting casting news.

The actress was a guest last month on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, where she was asked about the rumor that she would star in the upcoming comedy sequel Happy Gilmore 2.

“The rumors are true,” Margaret said happily, admitting: ““It was the best thing that happened to me in my life.”

She admitted: “It’s a small part.” Basically I have a deep training, but now I can die happy.

Turns out her husband, music producer Jack Antonoff, helped her… by lying to Adam Sandler via text message.

‘I saw there was an announcement, like there would be Happy Gilmore 2. And I emailed my agents right away. And I said, “Whatever it takes. No part is too small. Please!” I have to be part of this. I beg you, please, whatever is necessary,’ he admitted.

Then at some point, Adam texted Jack asking, ‘Does your wife play golf? He replied, ‘Yes, she’s really good!’

Adam responded, “No way,” as Jack asked, “Are we talking about ‘Gilmore’ or a charity golf tournament?”

Adam replied: ‘Gilmore.’ It might bother her for a couple of days, which is funny. She would be amazing.’
