Maren Morris came out publicly as bisexual on Sunday, in honor of LGBTQAI Pride Month, after performing a concert in Phoenix, AZ.
The 34-year-old Grammy winner, who has 3.9 million followers on social media, captioned it. instagram announcement: ‘Happy to be the B in LGBTQ+, happy pride!’
Maren received supportive comments from her current opening act, Allison Ponthier, as well as fellow singers Kate Yeager, Lindsay Ell, Marielle Kraft and Heather Mae.
Morris is known to be very affectionate with her friends, including one April 23 snap of her kissing photographer Sonya Jasinski with her arms embraced.
The 42-year-old singer also rode her best friend turned co-writer Karina Argow in a triumphant April 17 snap after becoming certified New York Times bestsellers for their children’s book, Addie Ant Goes On an Adventure.

Maren has been an outspoken ally of the LGBTQAI community since 2022, partnering with GLAAD and serving as a guest judge on the five-time Emmy-winning reality competition RuPaul’s Drag Race in 2023.
Last year, Morris proudly performed at the Love Rising charity event in Nashville, which protested Tennessee legislation targeting drag performers, trans youth, and same-sex marriage.
The Texas-born millennial even brought her four-year-old son, Hayes Andrew Hurd, to the “completely family-friendly” drag show where she declared on stage at the Bridgestone Arena: “Yeah, I introduced my son to some drag queens today, so Tennessee Arrest me, dammit.’
“Ok, this ‘save the children’ plea always seems to distract from what we’re really talking about,” Maren wrote a month later after backlash.
‘If you’re using the “exposure to boys” argument, there are a lot of dresses in Catholicism, makeup and powdered wigs in the theater that were historically worn only by men, Mrs. Doubtfire, that enchanted our childhood… the list is endless.
‘Drag is a performing art that has been around for centuries and some drag is only for adults. The performance I referenced in this interview was an all-ages benefit show to protest Tennessee’s illegal drag queen ban, which was rightly overturned.’
Morris’ announcement came four months after she finalized their divorce from country singer Ryan Hurd, to whom he pays $2,100 in child support each month.
The Tree singer and the 37-year-old Grammy nominee, who had a prenup, split on October 2 after five years of marriage, and originally met in 2013, co-writing Tim McGraw’s 2014 song Last Turn Home.
Maren, who receives 11.3 million monthly listeners on Spotify, is scheduled to bring her 40-date tour to Red Rocks Amphitheater in Morrison, CO, this Tuesday.
