Chelsea left back Marcos Alonso reportedly remains Antonio Conte’s No 1 priority as he looks to bolster his Inter Milan defense in the summer.
Alonso has ended a frustrating season at Stamford Bridge, playing just 19 times in all competitions like Frank Lampard has favored Emerson Palmieri, especially earlier in the season.
Inter were interested in Alonso’s services in January but failed to get their man and according to Tuttosport, they remain on the hunt for their priority signing and will look to snap him up in the summer.
Chelsea’s Marcos Alonso continues to attract heavy interest from Series A outfit Inter Milan
Conte is eyeing reinforcements as he realizes Inter could be short in the wing back positions heading into the next season.
Alonso’s Chelsea team-mate, Emerson, and Eintracht Frankfurt’s Filip Kostic are reportedly Conte’s plan B options.
And if that doesn’t work out, Paris Saint Germain left back Layvin Kurzawa and Sporting Lisbon’s Marcos Acuna.
The San Siro outfit started out the season with Kwadwo Asamoah and Antonio Candreva as regular wing backs in the 3-5-2 system but the former has suffered with injuries while the latter has just turned 33.

Ashley Young was signed in January on a permanent basis from Manchester United to bolster the defense, while Cristiano Biraghi and Victor Moses were brought in on loan.
However, reports claim Biraghi and Moses are expected to return to their parent clubs, while Asamoah’s future is uncertain.
Therefore, Conte is eager to reunite with Alonso after managing the Spaniard at Chelsea during the years of 2016 and 2018.
The pair won the Premier League together during the 2016-17 campaign before clinching the FA Cup in 2018.
