Marcia Hines returns to Australian Idol with bloody ‘gash’ on head after collapsing in dressing room – and she’s heading back to hospital after show

Marcia Hines has returned to Australian Idol after being rushed to hospital following a “medical emergency” on Sunday night.

The judge, 70, appeared to be in good health as she addressed her absence at the start of Monday night’s final episode.

However, Hines had a cut on his head that he had suffered in the fall and which was closed with stitches.

‘I feel good. I want to thank everyone who reached out to me. I appreciate it,” she said, addressing the audience and viewers.

Marcia then explained that she would have to return to the hospital after the live broadcast.

‘They gave me points and everything. Everything’s fine. I’m fine. Tonight I go back to the hospital. I’m coming back,’ she said.

He had previously shared a post on Australian Idol’s Instagram Stories where he thanked fans for their well wishes and said he was feeling “so much better.”

Hines collapsed in her dressing room on the set of the reality show on Sunday and injured her head in the fall.

A source told Daily Mail Australia that Hines was “ready to perform” on the show before he collapsed and was taken to hospital by ambulance.

Daily Mail Australia was told Hines was “in stable condition” after treatment on Sunday night and that his collapse was likely due to his diabetes.

She did not appear on Australian Idol and Guy Sebastian took over as judge.

Hines shared a statement on his Instagram page Sunday night.

‘I’m so sorry I wasn’t there with you all tonight. It has been a very intense few days of work and I felt a little bad. “I’m resting now so I can come back to you tomorrow night,” she wrote.

‘Just so everyone knows. She is fine. She is fine. But she didn’t call simply because she had a headache. She fell.’

Hines has been a type 1 diabetic for almost 40 years.

“Before I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes, my health and body were excellent, but I wasn’t eating properly,” she said. now to love in 2017.

‘I was skipping meals. There were days when I didn’t eat. She was losing a lot of weight. She was thirsty all the time and, without being vulgar, she peed like a pregnant woman!’

Hines was diagnosed after a dental procedure refused to heal.

“I wasn’t sick, but I had a procedure done on one of my teeth and it just wouldn’t heal, it just kept throbbing for days,” she said.

“I went to the doctor and that’s when I was diagnosed with diabetes.”

Hines said he manages his condition with insulin injections and insists, “I could have a lot worse things than just diabetes.”

The interpreter seemed to be in good health when Attended the opening night of West Side Story. in sydney Port on Friday.

Hines previously said she was delighted to return to the Australian Idol judging panel in 2024.

He appeared on the singing competition as a judge for its first seven seasons and will once again take a seat at the table.

‘I was surprised and delighted because I really love that concert. “I don’t know if people realized how much it meant to me,” he told the Daily Telegraph.

‘Because? Because, like me, they just want to sing, they want to find a career in singing,” the pop star added.

Hines was one of the original Idol judges when it debuted Down Under in 2003.
