A knife-wielding woman with two children in her car was allegedly driving on the wrong side of the road before crashing into a traffic light pole.

Police were called after a 23-year-old woman from the Cairns suburb of Manunda in far north Queensland allegedly armed herself with a knife on April 21.

Dramatic footage shows the moment the woman crashed after police say she put her two children in her car and drove away from officers.

Officers alleged that “the woman drove on the wrong side of the road and directly toward police, before crashing into the traffic light on Ray Jones Drive, near Rigg Street.”
