Manu Feildel looked dejected on Wednesday as he was spotted walking his dog in Sydney, just days after fans criticised him for calling a client “Karen”.

The celebrity chef, 50, looked dejected as he played fetch with his dog outside his home in the coastal suburb of Maroubra.

The My Kitchen Rules judge donned a beige polo and jeans for the outing, and paired the look with trainers.

He donned a Sydney Roosters baseball cap as he played with his beloved dog.

At one point, Manu’s attention was drawn to his mobile phone, where he was seen chatting intensely with a focused expression.

The normally upbeat celebrity chef didn’t seem like his usual self during the outing, with his downcast demeanor indicating he’s still struggling with recent criticism.

However, Manu’s face brightened as the day progressed and he engaged in some fun games with his pet, and seemed to be welcoming the lively distraction.

This comes after Manu riled his fans earlier this week when he responded to a month-old critic of his restaurant, calling them a “Karen.”

On Instagram, Manu shared an image of a negative review of his Bistro Red Lion By Manu in Rozelle, in Sydney’s inner west.

“The noise in the bistro was so loud that it was difficult to hear the people at our table,” the anonymous customer complained.

“The food was a bit bland and lacked a good combination of flavors,” they continued, before adding that “the presentation of the scallop boudin was off-putting.”

“Keep up the good work in the kitchen. The wine selection was good. I wish you all the best,” the critic concluded.

However, fans were quick to turn on the chef in the comments section of his post, pointing out the irony of a TV cooking judge taking exception to a mild criticism.

“Oh my God Manu, you’re a co-host of a cooking show, for God’s sake, where you criticize the contestants, but it seems you have a problem with what is considered a fair comment, my friend… God… can’t you handle the pressure? Get out of the kitchen,” wrote one outraged fan.

Manu opened his new bistro in the iconic 196-year-old Red Lion pub in Rozelle, Sydney last month, occupying the upper level of the pub.

He runs the restaurant alongside his friend of ten years, Jamie Gannon, who is the chief executive of the pub’s owner group, Laundy Hotels.
