Little-known benefit to air travelers revealed after man discovered his suitcase destroyed on regional flight
- The traveler’s bag was packed after the flight
- Suitcase even had a ‘missing wheel’
- Rex Airlines gave him new luggage
- Youssef Tabbiche bragged about it
A traveler has bragged about getting a new bag after discovering his checked bag was badly damaged on a regional flight.
Youssef ‘Youi’ Tabbiche took to social media on Wednesday when he discovered his small Royal Bag suitcase was cracked and a wheel was missing after taking a Rex Airlines flight.
The caption of the message read: “You can complain to the airline and they will compensate you for the suitcase.” Keep evidence because they’ll ask you for it.’
Footage from the video showed him reacting on an airport baggage carousel as he examined the broken hard plastic of his suitcase.
“Rex what the hell did you do with my suitcase? (It’s even missing) a wheel,” he said, checking the damage.
He took his bag to an airline’s office, while a second video revealed that an employee, obscured by a halo emoji, took a picture of the damage.

The employee was then filmed opening a box before giving Mr. Tabbiche a brand new gray Wanderlite briefcase to replace the broken one.
The TikTokker said the process took him 10 minutes to sort out and thanked the airline.
‘Let’s go boys, out with the old and in with the new,’ he said in the vision, while his mates congratulated him on the bag exchange.
“You’ve got a new bag, Youi… Wanderlite versus the old Royal Bag baby,” a friend was heard saying off-camera.
Mr Tabbiche offered advice on his ‘lesson learned’ for those who have worn out baggage they want to get rid of.
“Take them on a flight and the insurance will cover it and you get a brand new bag for free,” he said.
Online followers shared their own dodgy luggage carousel stories, while others wondered why the suitcase took such a beating.
“Someone didn’t want to work that day,” joked one commenter.
“You should see what (one airline) did with my partner’s bag. His underwear was on the conveyor belt,” a third claimed.
“I don’t think Rex has anything to do with the bags, it’s the contractors at the airport who make a lot of different planes and business bags,” another said.

But other skeptical commentators said the Royal Bag was “probably already broken.”
Meanwhile, Rex Airlines’ website said lost or damaged baggage due to own negligence must be submitted and reported at the destination airport within three days of the incident.
Baggage must also have the ‘thermal baggage tag’ still attached and observed by Rex personnel.
Rex Airlines was contacted by Daily Mail Australia for comment.
