Mr. Ogden's father, Graham, was on the scene, telling reporters of the time when his handicapped wife answered the phone and received the news that their son was missing.

& # 39; She was devastated. I tried to get out of her what was going on because I couldn't understand her because she screamed and roared and so, & he said.

Mr. Ogden, Grant Kuhnemann and pilot David Kerr were said to be old friends who traveled from their homes in Brisbane to Sydney for a night out, Gold Coast Bulletin reported.

Jocelyn Villanueva from Sydney and her fiancé Gregory Miller were also on board, although Villanueva said they had no idea why they were fleeing.

The group disappeared around 6:30 am near Anna Bay in Port Stephens, and air traffic control indicated that the aircraft lost altitude quickly because contact was lost.

Kerr was an experienced pilot and regularly took the helicopter, but it is believed that he became disorientated by bad weather and destructive wind.

Darren Ogden, Mr. Ogden's brother, told the publication that the best hope for his family was to restore his brother's body at this stage.

& # 39; No wonder will happen, & # 39; he said in Newcastle yesterday.

& # 39; The only thing I've thought of is when they went down, what went through his mind, and what happened.

Darren said that his brother, a former detective who had become a financial planner, had expressed his excitement about his short trip to Sydney with friends.

Mr. Ogden is supposed to be a single father of Ben and Steph, who are in their teens, The courier post reported.

Rubble from the helicopter was first noticed on Friday evening, and most of the wreckage was uncovered on Saturday.

A rescue helicopter from Westpac saw the main plane of the aircraft about 9:30 am about eight kilometers south of Fingal Bay.

They watched how it sank before boats could pick it up. The location was consistent with where the plane would probably have crashed.

& # 39; Helicopter occupants were not observed & # 39 ;, said the AMSA in a statement.

Kerr had the army green Vietnam warplane nicknamed & # 39; Huey & # 39; itself, and allowed it to be used in films.

He was an experienced pilot who owned and operated Brisbane Helicopters from Archerfield Airport.

Kerr had recently offered the 53-year-old helicopter for sale, but Warbird Aviation pilot Kim Rolph-Smith said the plane was in good condition.

& # 39; Regular flights; I would be very surprised if something was wrong with it, & said Mr. Rolph-Smith.

Flight tracking data indicated that the helicopter was running at 70 knots and 3500 ft before falling at 154 knots.

Mrs Villanueva's sister, Athena Rob, expressed her grief earlier after hearing about the crash.

& # 39; I can't say why they were on that flight. I'm so broken, & she told the Sunday Telegraph.

Mrs. Rob said her sister and her partner were a loving couple.
