A man has been found dead next to a church in Geelong’s CBD.
Police discovered the body about 4.30am on Friday on Malone St, near Western Beach Rd in Geelong, about 75km southwest of Melbourne.
As of 7 a.m., Malone Street remains closed while detectives investigate the scene.
Victoria Police spokeswoman Caitlin Knight said the man’s death was being treated as suspicious and the circumstances remained unclear.
Police cordoned off sections of grass adjacent to St. Peter and Paul Church, located at the intersection of Mercer and Malone streets.
