At four-fifteen Thursday afternoon, police responded to an emergency call at a dental office on North Magnolia Avenue in El Cajon, a city about 15 miles northeast of San Diego.
First responders provided “life support” to three victims.

Authorities said the coroner’s office will be the one to identify him.
Rob Ransweiler, the city’s police captain, briefed reporters Thursday afternoon. He said officers found the victim who died inside the office while the shooting was still ongoing and took him outside where they could safely perform life-saving measures.
