Owning Manhattan has captivated viewers since the new real estate series first dropped on Netflix last week, with some claiming the drama is better than its predecessor, Selling Sunset.
The eight-part series follows real estate mogul Ryan Serhant’s eponymous firm and his army of elite agents as they compete to secure the most exclusive luxury properties in New York City.
With so much pressure, on-screen drama is inevitable, but tensions have reached boiling point off-camera too, with Jonathan Nørmølle, Jade Shenker and Chloe Tucker Caine among cast members embroiled in bitter feuds in the wake of the hit series’ fallout.
Nørmølle, 27, has made it clear he has no regrets for his actions, which led to him being fired in the final episode.
He has since been criticised by his former boss Serhant and co-worker Shenker for his conduct towards fellow runners and for scathing comments he made about them in a since-deleted podcast.
Tensions have continued to rise off-camera as Ryan Serhant’s staff reacts to the fallout from his new show, Owning Manhattan.
Now, confidential sources have revealed that his actions did not surprise other agents, many of whom had doubts about the decision to hire him in the first place.
“Not only was his conduct with others a cause for concern, but some believe he had inflated his level of experience before joining the company,” one source said.
Elsewhere, a second source revealed that Nørmølle retaliated against Shenker’s recent claim that he is “fake” by telling everyone that she wasn’t even supposed to star in the show.
“He keeps reminding everyone that Jade wasn’t even part of the original cast,” a second source revealed. “There was another agent who ended up dropping out and that’s when Jade joined the show.
‘Jonathan thinks she just wants her 15 minutes of fame and believes she hasn’t even made as many real estate sales as she claims.’
Separately, Caine slammed Shenker on Instagram after the latter revealed to DailyMail.com that she had blocked her co-star for allegedly trolling her on TikTok.
“You watched five minutes of something that’s been going on for months,” the new mom fumed in a reaction video posted to Instagram. “And you think I’m suspicious?”
Caine then posted screenshots of the pair’s recent phone calls and responded: “Really? Aren’t we close friends at this point? This is how many times we’ve spoken in the last 48 hours alone…”
Jonathan Nørmølle, 27, has made it clear he has no regrets for his actions on the show, which saw him get fired in the final episode.
After coming under fire from his former co-worker Jade Shenker, sources have revealed that the outspoken showrunner continues to show little remorse for speaking his mind about the cast.
“Fool me once, shame on me. Fool me twice, shame on me?” (I don’t remember the end of this saying, but you get the idea.) I’VE ALWAYS BEEN HUNGRY FOR FAME.”
The successful broker went on to claim that she was the one who introduced Shenker to the person who helped her secure a $42 million building that helped her become Serhant’s agent.
Shenker quickly responded with a series of rebuttals on her Instagram Stories, while also leaving comments directly beneath Chloe’s posts as she appeared unfazed by her estranged friend’s claims.
Caine later became embroiled in an online feud with another former employee.
Former assistant Lindsey Welch had been a source of conflict for Caine and fellow agent Jordan March, after the latter hired the assistant shortly after Caine decided to part ways with her.
The issue led to a heated exchange between Caine and March in the second episode of the series, before they later resolved the conflict.
However, the comments made about Welch appear to have angered the staff member who wrote on Instagram: ‘Put me in a position too as you pushed the narrative that you “fired me” when the truth is we didn’t work out because you were an incompetent agent.
Meanwhile, Chloe Tucker Caine took to Instagram to publicly express her anger after Shenker accused her of being a troll on TikTok.
In the show, the pair clash over how Caine behaved after Shenker opened up about the secret breakdown of her marriage to ex-husband Matt Denham.
‘You also didn’t mention that you asked me back via text, but I left.’
He added: ‘Let’s get this straight: I learned everything I know by trial and error, because no one taught me anything.
‘On Chloe and Jordan’s team, I was responsible for over $59,000,000 in sales that went to Marker. I was not credited for anything.’
Welch continued: “It was extremely painful, especially seeing others being rewarded for their mediocrity. It took me over a year to grieve and heal from that disappointment. I accepted it with all my might and have since started from scratch as a solo agent.”
Caine responded on Instagram, writing: “Let’s nip this in the bud now as people love coming out of nowhere to try and spin the story and get their 5 minutes. It’s unbelievable.”
Caine took to Instagram to criticise Shenker’s comments and also refuted her claims that the pair were no longer close friends.
Shenker was quick to respond with saucy comments on the posts and rebuttals on his Instagram story, which Caine continued to fight back against.
She then shared a screenshot of a comment in which she had said, ‘Okay girl. You’ve been hired and you’re number one in every brokerage in NYC, not to mention Serhant TWICE.
“I thought you did a great job and I really wanted you to succeed. I still think you’re very talented and that you were going through a tough time, so I kept checking in with you to see how you were doing. It was my mistake.”
He added: “Your moves were inappropriate and did not reflect well on my team, so I let you go. Jordan did too in the end. It is what it is. End of story.”
Welch responded: “Hey babe, worry about closing a deal and taking care of your kid instead of posting about my sex life on the internet.”
A third source claimed Welch was “shocked” by the way Caine, who she worked with in 2022, had spoken about her on the show.
“It seems Chloe hadn’t stopped to think about how her words and online comments would affect Lindsey’s life and career,” the source added.
Meanwhile, a fourth source confirmed that Welch was fired from March’s team after working with the agents for nearly a year.
“Jordan eventually parted ways with the assistant because her behavior with team members proved to be a problem,” the source said.
However, Caine soon found herself drawn into another online feud with a former employee who worked for her and fellow agent Serhant, Jordan March (pictured).
Comments made about Lindsey Welch on the show appeared to have angered the staff member who shared her side of the story on Instagram.
Once again, Caine hit back, claiming that Welch was fired because her “movements were inappropriate and reflected badly” on Caine’s team, which Welch denied.
Caine recently hinted that he would stop sharing his problems with his co-stars on social media and instead get back to focusing on his work.
The latest drama comes after boss Ryan Serhant told DailyMail.com that he has a zero-tolerance policy when it comes to bad behaviour from his staff.
The 39-year-old world-famous broker and CEO fired Nørmølle after he badmouthed other agents. He also accused him of tarnishing the company’s reputation by showing a $10 million property.
“I have a one-strike policy for toxicity and negativity,” Serhant explained. “There are no bad apples. What you see me go through on the show is that while that term is easy to say, it’s hard to put into practice…
“Sometimes you’ll see some bad behavior, and my gut tells me it’s a one-time policy, you can’t work here anymore.”
