Mandy Moore clapped back at her followers after they criticized her for asking for donations to her family members affected by the LA fires

Mandy Moore told her followers to ‘F Off’ after she was criticized for asking for donations for her family members left homeless by the LA fires.

The actress – one of the A-listers whose homes were damaged by the dystopian flames this week – was slammed by many after she shared a GoFundMe for her relatives on Instagram.

She said it was “pathetic; that people asked her if she contributed money to her family.

“People who question whether we are helping our own families or donating whatever amount of money Google says someone has are NOT helpful or empathetic,” Moore snapped.

‘Of course we are. Our friend Matt started this, gonna fund me and I’m sharing because people have been asking how they can help them. We also just lost most of our lives to a fire. Please F OFF. no one forces you to do anything.”

Moore had previously shared that her brother-in-law and sister-in-law “lost their home and everything they own” just weeks before welcoming their first child.

“Griff is a touring musician and has also lost his entire arsenal of drums/percussion that he uses to make a living,” Moore wrote on Instagram.

‘It’s all so much. So many have asked how they can help during this unimaginable and stressful time… Please consider donating and sharing to help them rebuild.”

Many people left negative comments following Moore’s appeal for help, with many wondering why the star couldn’t just ‘get them a new house’.

‘Can’t you help them? Your millionaires????” read one comment.

But many supported Moore amid the criticism, with her fans saying the comments were cruel and lacking sympathy for a tragic event.

One fan wrote: ‘I find it incredibly cruel that in the wake of extreme tragedy and loss there are so many hateful and hurtful comments here.

“If you don’t want to donate to this family, don’t, but I hope you donate to other organizations in need because there are so many. Please try to lead with empathy.”

The GoFundMe has received $142,000 of its $145,000 goal; actor Zachary Levi was one of more than a thousand donors, donating $10,000.

The GoFundMe was started by Matthew Komo, Hillary Duff’s husband.

Moore had previously revealed that her own home was left “largely intact” by the fires, but “unlivable.”

The Altadena home she shares with husband Taylor Goldsmith was partially burned down as a result of the Eaton fire, joining many other celebrities whose homes unfortunately suffered a similar fate.

The wildfires have spread quickly across Los Angeles, with firefighters admitting they are unable to control the flames due to high winds.

The actress and singer shared photos of the rubble along with a lengthy message, starting with the news that part of their home was still standing.

She wrote, “We were able to park and walk down our street to witness all the loss. Miraculously, most of our house is still standing. For now. It is not habitable, but largely intact.

“We lost Taylor and Griffin’s studio, every instrument and piece of equipment they ever owned. We lost our garage and our back house.’

Mandy further sadly revealed that everyone they know in the area wasn’t as happy – giving her a sense of survivor’s guilt – as her, as every house on their street is gone, including her in-laws’ house.

The Candy hitmaker continued: “Everyone we know has lost everything. Every house on our street has disappeared. My in-laws.

‘My brother and sister-in-law – 6 weeks after welcoming their first baby. Our best friends. The strange guilt of the survivors.’

At least 10 people were killed and thousands of buildings were set on fire as intense wildfires raged in the Los Angeles area, officials said.

Fast-moving flames ripped through homes and businesses as residents fled the smoke-filled canyons and picturesque neighborhoods where many celebrities live.

Many of the towering fires that started Tuesday were fanned by powerful Santa Ana winds, which gushed at more than 75 miles per hour in some places. Winds eased Thursday, but the National Weather Service warned that even the reduced gusts could still spread the fire quickly.

The exact death toll remained unclear, but was expected to rise as crews continued to sift through the rubble.

Governor Gavin Newsom said California has deployed more than 1,400 firefighters to battle the blazes. Oregon, Washington, Utah, New Mexico and Arizona sent teams to help.

AccuWeather, a private company that provides data on weather and its impacts, increased its estimate of damage and economic loss to $135 billion to $150 billion. Government officials have not yet released damage estimates.
