Manzo continued to defend her impressive weight loss, noting that she doesn’t “look sick” and that “no one would question” her size if she still looked the same.

“As long as I feel good, I’m good,” Manzo added. ‘I’m fine. This is not sad. I just ate a ciabatta sandwich with a lot of cold meats, a lot of mayonnaise and fried foods. I’m fine.’

And he concluded: “There is nothing sad here.”

The Manzo’d With Children alum, who welcomed daughter Marchesa ‘Markie’ Anna Scalia in 2017, previously revealed that she underwent gastric band surgery.

During Reali-Virtual Tea from Page Six In a podcast in May, the mother of one talked about going gluten- and dairy-free for over a year before opting for Mounjaro.

“I understand it, people don’t like it, people don’t applaud it, people aren’t whatever, but it’s an injection in the stomach once a week, it’s the same as Ozempic,” he explained.

Manzo continued, “And honestly, I really think that obesity and things like that (are a big issue for people) are causing me mental health problems.”

“You’ve seen the struggle with this since I was 20 years old and it’s been very difficult for me,” he told listeners. “I understand that prediabetic or diabetic people need this, but I also think (the Ozempic trend) has helped people (also with eating problems).”

‘I mean, I’m not going to lie, I feel like there have been times where I’ve been on the verge of an eating disorder or struggled with it myself. And this is the only thing, even above weight loss surgery, that has helped me a lot, healed me and made me much better mentally. And I’m really grateful for that.”

WHAT IS MOUNJARO?

Mounjaro is a prescription injectable medication used along with diet and exercise to improve blood sugar (glucose) in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus, according to the company website.

It is not known if Mounjaro can be used in people who have had pancreatitis.

Mounjaro should not be used in people with type 1 diabetes.

It is not known whether Mounjaro is safe and effective for use in children under 18 years of age, the site added.

Mounjaro is the newest diabetes drug that also causes dramatic weight loss in people who inject it. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved Mounjaro a year ago for patients with diabetes, according to UC Health.

FDA officials have not yet approved Mounjaro for weight loss, but Low Wang said they are expediting consideration of the drug. This is because clinical trials have shown that people who do not have diabetes but do have a high body mass index (BMI) lost considerable weight when using Mounjaro.

An FDA recommendation on Mounjaro for weight loss could come later this year.

In approving Mounjaro for people with diabetes, federal health officials said it works well for people with type 2 diabetes. That is the most common form of diabetes and more than 30 million Americans have it.

Like Ozempic and Wegovy, it is an injectable medication, but Mounjaro differs in some key ways from other popular new diabetes medications.
