Amad Diallo has revealed why he removed all Manchester United content from his social media accounts, insisting others should “stop the hate” in light of his actions.

The Ivorian drew attention on Monday when he deleted all references to the Red Devils from his X accounts, formerly Twitter, and Instagram.

The Ivorian, who has a contract at Old Trafford until 2025, attracted attention on Monday when he deleted all references to the Red Devils from his X accounts, formerly Twitter, and Instagram.

The timing of the purge comes amid a season of frustration for the 21-year-old who has, at best, played a supporting role to Erik ten Hag.

He was expected to force his way into the Dutchman’s thinking following a successful loan spell in the Championship with Sunderland last season, when he recorded 14 goals and four assists.

Amad Diallo has clarified why he has removed all Man United content from his social media.

The young man deleted much of the content from his Instagram account, leaving some images of his time at Sunderland.

It was a similar story in X, where the message ‘tout cela finira’ – meaning, all this will end – was also present.

Erik ten Hag has given the winger just 46 minutes of action in the Premier League this season

But that has not happened until now, since the winger has only played three games this season, all as a substitute. Furthermore, two of them have come in the Premier League, over 46 minutes, since he returned to fitness in December after suffering a knee injury in pre-season.

On Monday, Diallo made the decision to delete any information related to his current employers from his social media accounts. His X account, formerly Twitter, also includes the line in his bio ‘tout cela finira’, which translates to ‘all this will end’.

And now, in a brief statement, he has explained the reasons behind his removal from social media.

Diallo took to Snapchat to post a story and tried to diffuse any potential tension: “I’ve turned off my social media for a month just to focus on Ramadan.

‘Stop the hate, there is nothing wrong with what I did. It’s a holy month for me and social media is a place where there are bad things to see during fasting.’

Diallo took to Snapchat to explain his true reasons behind the deactivation, citing Ramadan.

Diallo was an unused substitute on Saturday as he watched teammate Alejandro Garnacho win two penalties that were dispatched by Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford to give United a much-needed 2-0 win over Everton in the Premier League.

He will hope to get some minutes on Sunday in a mouth-watering FA Cup quarter-final clash against Liverpool.
