Manchester United are ready to take on rivals Manchester City and Chelsea for Ben Chilwell, Leicester City’s left back.

The Foxes defender has become a prime target for United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, this upcoming transfer window with many top clubs interested in the £ 60m left back.

The move from United, they say, will cast doubt on the future of their current left-back Luke Shaw at the club the sun.

Chelsea boss Frank Lampard believed he was in pole position to sign Chilwell as part of his summer spending that Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech had already agreed to join Stamford Bridge.

Lampard is still moving more weight to sign Chilwell, while Inter Milan is still closing a £ 15 million deal for Emerson Palmieri.

Manchester City are also looking to sign the Leicester City man while looking for a replacement for Benjamin Mendy – who has struggled to settle on the Etihad with several injury issues.

Pep Guardiola hopes to strengthen his back line this summer after noticing how much his squad misses former captain Vincent Kompany.

Losing Chilwell would be a huge blow to Leicester City as they try to bring in Champions League football next season.

It is unknown if qualifying for the league would increase their chances of keeping their star as a left back.

A graduate of Foxes Academy, Chilwell has made 123 appearances for the Midlands-based club.

His current deal with King Power will run until 2024, with the possibility that he will follow in the footsteps of former Leicester defender and now Manchester United captain Harry Maguire.
