Manchester United are increasingly confident to finally sign England international Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund, according to reports.
United have been chasing Sancho for quite some time and were close to signing him last summer, but Dortmund held out by wanting more than £100million for their star player.
But according to the athletic oneUnited have now entered into negotiations with Dortmund over Sancho’s services and have been given hopes that the German team will accept a lower asking price this time around.

Much remains to be done in terms of compensation for United to get their man, but the report claims both sides are ready to finally reach an agreement.
United are said to be willing to spend £80million on the England international – which made Dortmund initially responsive – but the Bundesliga side now wants an additional £20million in viable add-ons.
However, talks so far point to a compromise between the two clubs and United are reportedly positive about their hopes at the moment.
The Red Devils want to make a deal for the former Manchester City youth product before the European Championship starts in seven days, but they know it will be a difficult task.
Sancho’s signing would be seen as a letter of intent from United and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer

United then plan to wait 12 months to try and bring in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s former player Erling Haaland as their long-term number nine.
Edinson Cavani’s recent contract extension means that chasing a striker is seen as a less immediate priority than Sancho as a right-sided attacker.
Solskjaer has told his bosses the options of Sancho, Cavani, Mason Greenwood, Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial would make United a competitive challenge for major trophies against Manchester City, Liverpool and Chelsea next season.

After failing to secure a transfer to Old Trafford last summer, Sancho had a frustrating start to the 2020-21 season for Dortmund.
However, he finished the season in style by helping Dortmund win the German Cup and qualify for the Champions League with 10 goals in his last 15 games.
In addition to Sancho, United are also on the hunt for Kieran Trippier, with cramped Atletico Madrid open to offers.
The Red Devils see him as competition for Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
A centre-back is also on the agenda for United, and they are working on a deal for Real Madrid’s Raphael Varane.
