On Sunday, Manchester United snapped a two-game losing streak in spectacular fashion, coming from behind to defeat Manchester City in a long-standing rivalry game.
The match, which began as a rather dull edition of the Manchester Derby, took a surprising turn when Man United scored two goals in the final three minutes of regulation time to take a 2-1 lead.
Manchester City controlled much of the match, with defender Joško Gvardiol heading the first goal off a set piece in the 36th minute. But United came back strongly in those final minutes to claim the victory.
Man United’s equalizing goal came in the 88th minute after a penalty taken by Bruno Fernandes. Manchester City defender Matheus Nunes made two major errors before the shot, first attempting a poor pass that was intercepted by United striker Amad Diallo and then fouling Diallo in the box in his rush to make up for the mistake.
Diallo had the last laugh, racing through the Manchester City defense to score the winning goal in the 90th minute, getting a beautiful touch over the head of City goalkeeper Ederson and deftly crossing the ball towards the goal for victory.
With the defeat, Manchester City have lost five of their last seven games and have also had great difficulties in the UEFA Champions League.
