Manchester City star Phil Foden beats five other Premier League stars to win PFA Young Player of the Year award after title-winning season

Phil Foden has been named Young Player of the Year by the Professional Footballers’ Association.
The Manchester City and England forward was nominated for both Player of the Year and Young Player of the Year.
The 21-year-old has scored 16 goals in 50 appearances for City in all competitions this season, as Pep Guardiola’s side won the Premier League and the Carabao Cup and reached the Champions League final.
‘I am truly honored. There have been some great players in the past that have won it and I feel really lucky to win it because there have been so many great young talents this year. It’s a special moment,” Foden said in a PFA video.
Foden faced competition from last year’s winner Trent Alexander-Arnold, Declan Rice, Bukayo Saka, Mason Greenwood and Mason Mount to win the award.
Meanwhile, Manchester City forward Lauren Hemp won the Young Women of the Year award for the second consecutive season and the third time in her career.
