Raheem Sterling and Riyad Mahrez are on Manchester City’s SALE list this summer of champions planning to refine their roster – and Arsenal are interested in both wingers
- Manchester City winger Raheem Sterling could be sold by the club this summer
- Sterling has lost his place in Pep Guardiola’s starting line-up in recent weeks
- City is ready to cash in on both the English star and Riyad Mahrez
Raheem Sterling leads a list of players Manchester City is looking to unload this summer, while Pep Guardiola is setting out a new era of dominance.
The Premier League champions plan to refine their selection during the transfer window, regardless of the outcome of Saturday’s Champions League final in Porto.
Sterling lost his place in Pep Guardiola’s starting line-up towards the end of last season and Sportsmail understands City would be willing to listen to offers for the 26-year-old.
Manchester City are ready to sell Raheem Sterling this summer after a season of off-color
The winger has lost his place in the starting line-up under boss Pep Guardiola in recent weeks
He is not the only man who could leave with Riyad Mahrez in the coming months, including among those who could be sacrificed.
Mahrez has been fantastic in recent weeks, especially in the Champions League semi-final against Paris Saint-Germain, but City would consider moving him if the deal was right. Others in the squad who are vulnerable include striker Gabriel Jesus and center-back Aymeric Laporte.
Arsenal would have an interest in Sterling and Mahrez. Gunners boss Mikel Arteta worked with both during his spell at City under Guardiola. But there must be doubt about Arsenal’s ability to land both players, given their financial demands and lack of European football.
Real Madrid is one of the clubs with a long-standing interest in the England international
Riyad Mahrez is another name that could be on the scrap heap when City listens to offers
Barcelona and Real Madrid have a long-term interest in Sterling. City needs money to complete their own signings, with Sportsmail revealing yesterday that Jack Grealish with a rating of £ 100 million is their number 1 target in the midfield.
They are also on the trail of the English captain Harry Kane.
It is acknowledged that City will have to downsize their group to pursue Kane and Grealish, but it will still come as a surprise that Sterling has a prize.
